You can also turn off the alarm by smashing it against the wall.

I can see it now... alarm goes off... stupid flying thingy goes sailing into the air... my 14th story apartment window is open... my dog (having been trained for years to catch the thrown frisbee) takes chase after the alarm clock flying disc... I run to the window in time to view my dog's butt hurtling to the sidewalk below... What a way to wake up in the morning... Maybe not!

I had a roommate who could sleep with an alarm going off right next to his head, while I was kept awake in the next room. I eventually started turning off the circuit breaker to his room.

It says "flying contraption that must be returned to the cradle to shut off the alarm", so turning off circuit breaker won't stop these.

Some crap is made for the sole purpose of being a funny gift and is never used, or only used a couple times. This thing and the car pizza cooker are in that category. The greenies should start a campaign about the ecological impact of stupid gag gifts.

Have one. Works as billed. Kids thought it was super neato, as did us parents who would have to wake the kids after they would smack the snooze. This forces you to engage your brain enough to hunt for the copter-disc. Usually goes straight up & down; so a deck of cards under it gives it tilt and some randomness. The alarm is the red-alert klaxxon from Star Trek - very effective waking you up (compared to the normal monotonous standard beep, beep, beep of normal alarms). Battery operated, so can be used as a backup for those mornings that would be a career-killer were you to oversleep. Recommended. Wife hates it, but that's probably because it is so effective waking you up (I get up at the first alarm; she snoozes for 5 cycles).

OMG - I think I would hurt someone if they gave me one of these clocks...

#11, I am guessing MOST alarm clocks work off of electricity, the plug-in-your-wall variety. While this roflmaocopterclock works off batteries, #10's point was, to shut off the electricity to his neighbor's room, which would prevent any alarms from going off.

Most decent alarm clocks have a battery backup so not only would you need to flip the circuit breaker, you'd have to leave the power off then either return later after the alarm time without being caught, or they'd catch onto the plan because the circuit breaker was in the off position instead of the tripped position which is only partway off on garden variety breakers and can't be manually set easily if at all (Unless you're into sticking paperclips into wall outlets).

I had a similar problem back in college, roommate took too much ritalin for ADD and was pretty much dead to the world every morning as a result, never turned his alarm clock off right away. My fix was to pop open the alarm clock and bend the wire to the buzzer till it looked like it had frayed off. Neutered alarm clock, for quite awhile he thought he just slept through it.

Wouldn't have worked as well if it were a clock radio since then the radio wouldn't work either on those which use the same speaker for both and turn the radio on at the alarm time. I mean it would've been easier to figure out since they usually have a switch to turn the radio on at any time.
