As Consumer Reports says, they all have their weaknesses.
I have a Magellan 2200T, bought as a refurb., and like it.
Gave a Tom Tom to a friend and it works well, too.
Just go for the features that are important to you. Check the reviews such as those on Amazon for additional higher volume input.
