r/w speeds seem good.. Anyone got any useful info on this one?

this sounds like a decent deal, but I'm waiting for this to mature more and larger cheaper sizes. For now I'm sticking to the regular SATA 500 GB for both my laptop and desktop.

JMicron controller? If so, laggy, peak r/w speeds not a good indicator of real world performance. Anything with JMicron controllers should cost little if anything more than the same sized USB thumbdrive.

#3 what? Jmicron controllers are common on MOBO's for, for example, SATA. So what's this stuff about jmicron & usb's? The MOBO ones are not "laggy" as stated. I am not sure, but wonder whether Jmicron even fabs their own parts.

I agree with #2, the price will drop. And, until it does, I don't mind using the disc hard drive.

#4, A lot of SSD's w/Jmicron controllers aren't so good because I think during writes, it can seem like your computer will be unresponsive (aka "stutter"). I think OCZ has one where they switched to Intel (not sure) controllers and they don't have those problems.

i considering getting one simply to make my outlook faster. We have to use it because it's connected to Exchange. SSDs are great with not too many tasks and very good for random reads like searching through your local .pst.
