some all in one fax machines have scan ability. if this will sacn business cards and import them into say outlook then it's worth he price.

I hope people encrypt or secure the scans in someway cause this can lead to bad outcomes if the wrong person were to get a hand on these scans

Waste of money and space, a regular flatbed scanner that you'll still want to own for all the things it does best, will do quite well at this task too. If you can't get the software to auto-crop the receipt because of the white paper vs white scanner lid background, toss a piece of black or gray paper on top or just leave the lid up.
