These are great little units but I would cough up the $30-40 more for the unit that talks to you. It is much more convenient, you can keep your eyes on the road and just pay attention to driving rather than looking down at the screen to make sure you make your turn

I have the Nuvi 255W, one of the best purchases I have made. well worth having, a great unit

All Nuvi's talk!!!! I have this exact model and it says: "turn left 300', etc. Very clear with adjustable volume. What it doesn't do is say: "turn left on Main St." That feature is called "Text to Speech" for which one pays extra.

i bought the 255w refurb at the egg for $149, that has the text to speech

the friction mount from buy . com for $20 shipped

You can also pick this up at Wal-Mart for $149 if you do not want to wait for shipping.

For what I understand, the main difference between the 205W and the 255W is the text to speech, and Canada Maps for the 255W.
The friction mount is in $15 this week at bestbuy.
