This was overpriced when it came out (when my brother got one at $950), but it's reasonable now. The main problem is that 8-16 GB Memory Sticks cost a fortune vs SDHC cards used in competing non-Sony camcorders. Also check out the Sanyo HDxxxx series pistol-grip camcorders.
