    I just picked one of these up. Haven't used it much yet, but I think it will serve my purposes. I just wanted something to get me over the hump until the higher end HD cameras take the next leap forward. I didn't see the point of paying $500-$600 for something like the Canon HF-200 at this point in time. I'm expecting that in the next 2-3 years there will be some significant advances in the technology. Then I will consider paying more for the state of the art. For now, this should get the job done.

    Is it wrong that i'd buy a camera from Sam's Club, but look down at the things walmart has to offer?

    This one looks like a pass... maybe a gift for a kid.

    #3,LOL.. it was definitely a good job. I still think MiniDV camcorders are the way to go unless you also want something that takes good stills. They're cheap and archival is easy.
