As mentioned, comes with FIOS for free. I started to set up the wireless on it but, it is such a mess of a web based interfaced (like most brands) I decided to turn off the wireless and plugged in my existing (bought as un-boxed demo model on sale) older (10base-T, 80211N) but faster Apple Airport Extreme that has worked fine now for years. No problems. I even run my wired ethernet printer off the Airport. Just easier.

Switched from Comcast cable internet service to DSL service about 2 years ago. I wanted to continue to use my D-Link WiFi router with this unit, and found I had to manually disable the router feature, making it just a dumb modem. Setup now works great.

What's so hard about HTTP configuration menus on routers? These are pretty basic networking settings.

I think #3 has some terminology mixed up, it is not likely a product is both 802.11n AND 10base-T, particularly when even 802.11b exceeds 10Mb let alone 11g or 11n.

I agree this modem / router is junk, but after many automatic firmware updates it's finally stable. I have Verizon FiOS as well.

If I could replace the only thing I really need from this "MOCA" I would ditch it in a second.

This is not the same model that FiOS provides, they use the MI424WR. I trained my 12 year old daughter to power cycle it once a day and haven't had any problems since.

My unit came with FiOS. First one died immediately but replacement was never power-cycled, Wireless is strong throughout the house and yard (1/2 acre). Menus could be more sensible but otherwise quite a capable device.
