Black Friday, 2007 - paid $1299 for this. No regrets, great TV, except it doesn't do 24/1080p cinema mode very well - it studders.

I had the same problem with the "W" series, but found a setting in the TV menu to turn off a motion enhancement or something like that. No more stutter.

The S series had the 2nd worst picture I ever saw on an LCD TV, falling behind only to the lowest end Westinghouse, thus increasing my already sizeable disdain for Sony products. I wouldn't buy this even if it somehow made Peyton's bulbous head seem less like some kind of disgusting mutation.

I was about to buy this but I read that during NFL games the crowd noise is artificially pumped up to unrealistic levels.
