I hope there's a better upgrade than an extra battery :T

heh. I would get an extra battery... I had one of these on my workbench for a week, and holy crap it's a power-sucking brick.

It's better than most with 130GT card with up to 1GB on Board.

so for the price its not worth it for gaming?
also, is that coupon only valid when the price hits 1400 or will it work at any price?

I did a boat load of research...now I'm not saying I exhauseted every avenue but I ran multiple price comparisons and every system I configured around the same pricepoint (after coupon) were inferior in some way, shape or form. The Aliens I configured were easily $1000 more and the Dell was $200-300 more than the non coupon price which was ugly and the regular HP and Acer brand machines weren't quite up to spec.
I got the base proc with HD tuner, Blu Ray player/burner, backlit keyboard, bluetooth, wireless N, dual 7200 rpm drives, 130M GT with 1 gig of dedicated memory, 4 gigs of DDR3, extra battery and of course the webcam/finger print reader/speakers that come with the system. I understand the P8700 is OC'able but that the BIOS doesn't support it? Anyone know on that front?

If you buy it you just gotta hope the monitor hinges don't break like several of HP's models are noted for, because HP won't support it unless they get a law suit about it.
