Mkay, so I'm considering one of these netbooks for a terminal / surfbook / DosBox gamer. Anyone with any experience with one of these netbooks playing DosBox games (mostly pre-1998 vintage)? I have yet to test on my wife's Samsung NC10, but I'm not sure the screen size is going to be conducive to playing much in the way of games... but I'd be interested to hear what others have to say.

This is probably one of the best models for a netbook. Asus gives you the most features, highest battery life and lowest cost.

the dell is $37 more for the same features.

Upon further review, Asus has a number of better models available, though none this cheap.

If you want to game on a netbook get the Asus N10j which has an integrated GeForce 9300 - but it's pricey.

Bought on of these in Feb this year and it a nice setup.

Sure the newer 1000HE model has better battery, processer, bluetooth and 802.11N, but it is $70 more.

Is the 1000HA same weight as the 1000HE? I played with a friend's 1000HE for like 2 days and I like it and love the long battery life except the weight. The 1000HE seems a bit heavy for its size (by looking at it). So I was looking at the Samsung NC10/N110/N120 (2.8lb) and still can't conclude which one to get. I checked out the asus seashell (2.4lb?) and like the slim and light weight feature except it's more expensive and hard to upgrade the ram. I'd like to have a 6 cell battery (>= 4.5-5 hr) but prefer lightweight/slim model.

For those who has 1000HA, do you think it's heavy and how much battery life can you get? I will mostly use it around the house or bring it for vacation trip. I will use wifi but probably not much bluetooth. With the $280 price tag of the 1000HA, I am now considering go with this one instead of the $380 (amazon price) for the 1000HE. Any good place to buy netbook for CA resident (the old zip zoom fly deal is not too good with the CA tax)?

S I am OK with my dell 300m 12" laptop except the old battery (can only go mobile for like 30 min - and all 3 of my spare batteries have similiar charge now) so I'd want to get a netbook to replace it.

N and BT isn't worth the extra 70. i'd be ok with HA if i didn't already have HE.
