Children, why is it that when a video card deal comes up, you want to feel special by recommending something else?

If anything, alternate video cards are the last thing we could possibly need, video cards are among the most reviewed and benchmarked products on the internet.

Please spare us this repetitive minute by minute update on video cards and spend time providing alternatives for other products.

Note to Cheezwiz: How come you don't pimp the cheapest crap when it comes to video cards too? Is it that you only understand video cards and nothing else, since you can understand a simple number like FPS but not understand any other possible benefits of the rest of the products ben pimps?

Also Cheezwiz, it's pretty dumb to knock a company for a driver version several versions ago, as if every other video card manufacturer hadn't had driver problems from time to time.

The simple truth is you get better drivers from nVidia. Whether someone is willing to pay more for that, or get a few more FPS from ATI to go cheap, that's a personal decision.

However, if video cards are really as important as it seems to generate so many posts on a card that has been offered over and over again, it'd be important enough that choosing ATI cards with their crap drivers is out of the question.

To put it another way, sure you can get same FPS a bit cheaper with ATI, but you can also get same MPH a bit cheaper with Chrysler or GM than Honda or Toyota. That doesn't necessarily mean the Chrysler or GM is a better deal, it only means monkeys can't understand anything more complex than a very simple thought like "this number bigger than that number".

Now dave_C you’re getting as long winded as all of them. Even simpleton he123 was uncharacteristically wordy, while GoudaWhiz... well he said his customary swill smell of normal. Even batboy comes out of anonymity to aid in averting the ineptitude that Nvidia try’s to push.

And for what, it's their time honored tradition to redirect everyone from the fact that this “card deal” was is just an foolish POS that Nvidia perpetrates on the uninformed.

While they'll use the same hollow retort to further deflect with the untruth of drivers. It’s the fanboi charade they must pull-out when don’t have anything else to discuss. They’ve no substantiated corroboration from the multitude of authoritative reviewers' that daily benchmark competing cards. No they just purport some ancient myth!

We all have invited them to present any such backup, although they provide zilch. Just the same boorish, parroting, of vulgarity from crass-mouthed adolescents.

I recommend against buying from XFX. Over the last four years, I've purchased four video cards from them. One of the older cards, a 6800GS, has been having an issue where, if the computer is turned on with the VGA cable connected, there is a ~90% chance that there will be screen corruption. If the system is booted with the VGA cable disconnected, there will be no corruption and everything runs properly.

I called XFX to try to get the card serviced as it, like most of their video cards, supposedly has a double lifetime warranty. Double lifetime means that the card has a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser and for the first person that the original purchaser sells the card to.

XFX asked me for proof of purchase, which I didn't have since the card was purchased several years ago. I asked if that was needed since the card had a lifetime warranty. I was told that it did. I forged a receipt and they called me out on it, stating that since I had not registered the card within 30 days of purchasing it, it only had a one year warranty on it, and that it had expired.

I told XFX that I was a loyal customer and asked them if they would be willing to make an exception for me. I also asked them if they'd be willing to let me register my 8800GTS and GTX 260+ so I could have the warranty on them. I also pointed out that reputable manufacturers of other computer hardware with lifetime warranties, such as memory, would replace defective hardware without requiring a proof of purchase. They adamantly declined my requests.

I waited a few days, after posting about these issues on several forums, and contacted them again. I informed them that I was spreading the word about their decision to not honor the warranty and asked them if they wished to reconsider as my negative feedback is probably costing them sales. The tech said that XFX was going to stick by its warranty policy. I asked for a supervisor to confirm that and now, after 5 days, still haven't gotten a response.

CLIFFS NOTES:
--XFX video cards supposedly have double lifetime warranty.
--XFX denies warranty if cards are not registered within 30 days.
--If you purchase an XFX product and need warranty support, expect them to try to weasel out of honoring the warranty.

Yes, I plan to spam this in every XFX "deal" posted on BB. I am thoroughly disgusted with XFX and am strongly considering selling all of my XFX hardware at a loss so I can replace it with equipment from a more reputable company.

Read a few reviews elsewhere, this is just fine for upgrading for use in Second Life.

I guess I missed the healthy competition part you talked about since that makes no sense unless you are selling the card. I come here to find parts and a review from someone with experience with the product I need but It's just you guys bickering to each other as always and passively try to fuck with others.
