I'm in agreement with dumass - refurb doesn't scare me off, but refurb from buy.com does. I've heard they are along the lines of newegg for refurbs.

i still have a 30gb video ipod as my main mp3 player...battery is starting to go and streak going across the screen. that's probably something along the lines of these refurbs...anyone want to buy it off my for $80 shipped? haha

#3 - wipe it with a rag and say it's refurbed.

Zune pisses all over this.

Got this iPod last time Buy had the same deal. It is pristine - not a scratch. No indication it was ever used. Nice, clear, bright display... sounds great.

Before I bought this I considered that the battery might not last very long, so I checked out a couple sites where you can buy iPod batteries (of various quality) to install yourself or have them installed at quite reasonable prices.

So far, I'm pleased...

Considering my brand new 30gb ipod barely (some 2 years ago) survived 1.5 years, I'll have to pass on the refurb.

Never a question of "if" it's going to die, it's always "when". Thanks Apple.

@MaJoad52, how is it changing the battery for this iPod? I've heard from friends that it's a pain to take an iPod apart, but that it varies depending.
