I dunno, would have preferred 2,3,4 myself. Star trek started off with a real bomb of a movie.

uh the whale movie isnt that bad. 5 is nothing less than cow tripe. 6 is good, the rest who cares.

More time travel would have made these movies better. DVD is the deal killer, bring on the HD-DVD's!

Or where that guy in the black outfit says "Luke, I am your father."

"docta jones, docta jones!"
"dammit shortround, i'm a doctor, not a miracle worker!"

Best episode ever

I liked all of the movies and TV episodes except the one where the guy in the red shirt dies.

Star Trek Movies all sucked. They should have left well enough alone after the original TV series ended.

It has become a plague for SciFi.

Even the "Next Generation" series was a joke. A politically correct tomato for a Captain. Data the ridiculous droid. (Gee how did they come up with that original name for him?) The poor dude that had to go around with half an automotive air filter painted gold over his eyes, and of course, this is where the make-up technician orgies really began, wherein all non-earth, sentient life forms have the same physical form as humans only with lumps and bumps on their head and different color skin or pattern tattoes. Absurd slap in the face to any thinking SciFi reader.

If you read SciFi you know there are tons of excellent original ideas that could be made into movies or TV series. Alas, our warped culture keeps going back to the same old franchise or some ridiculous spinoff of it.

They don't even know how to make SciFi movies. Look at the recent remake of the classic, "Day The Earth Stood Still." They completely destroyed an excellent classic. Or maybe I Robot, another Asimov classic that could have been one of many stories by him that would make awesome movies. How about his Foundation Series of books? 12 books in the series and all ready for movies, sequels. Apparently with the I Robot movie all the stole was the name, as the movie was nothing like the book.

SciFi is easily the genre with the most potential for modern hi tech film making, yet it is similtaneously the most abused and neglected.

I can't take your rant seriously, #10, because you didn't even mention the triple limp-dicked raping of Heinlein's Starship Troopers. The bastardization of The Day Point Blank Stood Still seems like a masterpiece compared to that dried up turd!

Good addition #13. There are a bunch of great Heinlein storys that could be epic movies but no. Why make something remarkable when you can make some mediocre multi-million $$ pos remake.

I prefer SciFa.

And as long as they're releasing incomplete Star Trek movie collections, the should release "Star Trek: Only The Even Numbered Movies".

How do they call it a trilogy just because they have 3 of the 10 movies made before the reboot. Terrible
