Why? Widescreen is a definite plus, especially for something like GPS. You can see more of your surroundings which can only be seen as a plus. You also have the option of having extra info shown instead without compromising your screen space.

I have the normal size screen and my parents have the wide screen, and theirs definitely does seem nicer. Of course, if size is an issue, the normal screen is smaller thus the whole device is smaller.

if U want to see more, zoom out.
My Mio have the auto zoom in and out according to speed. Sadly Garmin don't seem to do much on the zooming if any. (cause I don't see it zoom at all)

have been told that the bigger the unit the bigger the battery is this right ? anyway, own the 255w and like it a lot (owner for about 1 year )
