7 of my 25 lg burners at work went out in the last year, will not buy again.

Helpful information #1...I will wait until these are sub $75 with that kind of reliability.

I'm waiting for them to be free. They should do the Razors and razor blades model. Give a way the drives and screw people on the media. Right now they are screwing you on both..

With size of flash drives going up and price going down who burns CD and DVDs anymore? These are just to rip movies right?

I'd guess.. rip them and throw em on a media server. Maybe Nintendo was on to something when they stayed with the flash memory with the N64...

based on all the reviews I will say this is bad drive. I like the HD DVD BR combo as I own more HD DVDs than BR for now. This sounded like a nice deal until I head how bad and unreliable the drives are. In their defense though, I own a couple of LG DVD ROM/RWs and they are still going after 4 years. But I prefer Pioneer and Plextor drives
