#1: it's for computers with very little clearance over the CPU.

If you have enough room, get a normal tower cooler, it works much better.

A tiny heatsink with tiny fans doesn't work as well? Wow you learn something every day.

#3: I know someone who bought one of these for their computer.

If you don't say these things, however obvious they may seem, people will get less-than-ideal items.

You forget that the average system builder/upgrader is falling for nVidia's new "put higher numbers on old cards" marketing scheme. Sales are up on old cards with new names.

#5: if they were cheap, they would have gotten the much better Sunbeamtech cooler for $14 at newegg.

They just aren't all that knowledgable about computer components. Some of the people on these forums also don't know all that much about computer components. So, if you post helpful reccomendations and comments, it helps people choose the best parts for their computer.

Someone might just look at this cooler, see that it has two fans, and think that it cools very well.

    Only cheaptards would.

Anyone else has, at some point in the past, heard legends about a vague thing called internet, a mystical place where people can search for information. If someone is actually too stupid to do that, let them have crap and learn to make better decisions, it's not like we need a sign that reads "this way to the internet".

so, you're saying this cheap person wouldn't buy the cheaper, and better performing sunbeam cooler? That doesn't make sense.

So tell me, why is nVidia having such huge success in increasing sales by merely slapping new labels on their old video cards? The GTS250, a 9800GTX+, which was itself a 8800GTS, is selling great.

People are upgrading their 8800GT's to 9800GT's. ... [Truncated]
