Do these work as well and last as long as the canon branded ink?

I have used generic ink catridges such as these in my Canon printer for so long, I can't remember whether they last as long as Canon branded cartridges. I know that they work as well as Canon cartridges and they cost about 80% less than Canon cartridges, so that's good enough for me. I think that you can get these for even less if you search around the Internet, and I believe that they are all made by the same manufacturer.
