Interesting stuff. I wonder how much of a performance gain you would get with a 3-way SLI/crossfire? I've also heard that triple channel memory shows like no gains...

sli can help a bit w/ large monitor sizes (esp 2560x1600). mostly a marketing gimmick (tho folding@home folks like myself can put the cards to use)
If you're looking for 1 or 2 card x58 system, evga just announced its small form factor board for 199$
note that the A1 edition has the lifetime warranty and step up and all that (the TR edition which usually runs ~269 does not.
