Outstanding camera for the expert-amateur. With the DA* lenses, I've been out in the worse of Florida weather for hours and didn't worry about harming my camera or lens.
The new K7D uses the exact same sensor, but in a much smaller body (even smaller than some Olympus models which have a smaller sensor), and adds a new logic/display set (5fps shooting, 1Mpix LCD, etc...).

#1, The K7 does not use the same sensor, it is rebuilt from the K20. It just has the same mpixel size.
This is a good deal. I bought the K10 for $530, which was and still is a good deal, so I think this is at least as good for the upgrade.

One of the things people consistently comment about with Pentax vs. Canon/Nikon/Sony DSLRs, even those selling for significantly more money, is how sturdy the Pentax feels in comparison. Sure, you can spend a few thousand dollars and get a better camera. But for Pentax's price points, I'm convinced that you can't do better in feel, fit, or features.
