I saw someone using this on an aircraft. USB power/interface, and she was entering business cards and expense documents. Worked fine, but I forgot the name and haven't seen it around. This is definitely "it" - and the price is compelling.

These types of scanners are very useful for digitizing important documents, receipts, statements, etc. If you need something for travel this looks pretty good. Personally I don't fly often (and if I do, I don't need to scan while doing it), and I opted for a FujiFilm ScanSnap. It's quite a bit more expensive, but features an automatic feeder (have used it to scan 20-30 page documents), scans both sides of a page in one pass, and has a fairly small footprint. The only downside is that it only scans to PDF.

Well, the manual from http://download.geniusnet.com/manual/scanner/SF600-E.pdf is not very clear as to what output formats it supports. The manual is dated 2004 and Genius does not have a "scanner" category on their Products page which leads me to think that this is maybe a discontinued product, or maybe they have a poorly designed web page. Certainly a cheaper alternative to the Xerox Xtravel-Scan at NewEgg for $110.
