50 Pack Memorex DVD+R 8X Dual LayerBuy.com has this Memorex DVD+R 8X Double Layer Media 8.5GB (2 x 25 Pack) Spindle for $30 with free shipping. Even if you factor in the double capacity, the price/storage is still more than double that of single layer media. [Compare]

Good deal. I've used these for my Xbox 360 with no problems.

Memorex is like playing the media lottery. Never know whether you'll get a good batch or crap

I've only used the regular single layer ones so far.

The new design are much better than the old - my coaster rate is down to about 8% - but who knows which one's these are?

The "bad" batches seem to burn ok at 4x, assuming your burner is sympathetic to Ritek DL. You do have a chance of having total fail but not too high. Overall I'd stick to single layer.

I always see people referring to quality when burning Xbox360 games and no problems with brands other than Verbatim. Burning isnt the issue here, its how often do you get the "cannot read disc" error in the middle of game play when using brands other than Verbatim. Ever since I switched to Verbatim, I never get that error anymore, so its well worth the extra $ for quality disc's.

@10 I totally agree with you on that. 100% of the way.
