I dont like fixies. They are not very comfortable for long distances Sad

Good thing no one is forcing you to get one.

#1: It isn't a fixie, it's a Single Speed. But in case you were listing things you don't like, I'll contribute too, I don't like marzipan...

No gears? So why are all the other bikes with gears cheaper? Hmmm...

yeah, 27 lbs is on the heavy side.

It has gears, two of them. My wife rides her bike in the same gear no matter what. Not that she is a retard, but some people are too retarded to shift...

as i am a bike nut, no pun intended, i would rather recommended buying from bikes direct as they sell higher quality bikes at only a little more.

    http://www.bikesdirect.com

for people who are new to city riding(without hills) , i would get an inexspensive bike and simply change the seat and handel bars to something taht is more comfortable for you. =)

#9, If it's a single speed fixed gear bike, why would it have two gears? How do you shift with one drive sprocket and one driven sprocket? Your wife must be a retard having married you.

It's 20% off any single item at nashbar. Not this item specifically...

#11, you're the retard. The bike listed has 2 gears. He didn't say his wife had that same bike, just that she never shifted gears on HER bike. Moron.

PS when it comes to buying a new bike, shop at your local bike shop. nashbar is great for accessories.

Better off to shop at your local bike shop. You'll pay more but you'll know that the bike is perfect for you.

This is a bike for cycling enthusiasts who don't want to ride their precious to school/work. It looks like an old fashioned track bike converted for city use... how trendy.

#5: And still wrong. Quote the poor write-up, but a "fixie" has a FIXED gear on the backwheel, and this has a freewheel mechanism. On a fixie, you cannot coast. On this bike, you can. So either you don't like Single Speeds or you don't have a clue what the hell a "fixie" is.

Rear Hub: Single Speed 36H, Nutted, w/ 16T Freewheel

#18, you are correct but Ben's description says it's fixed so they probably went by that. I love my fixie that I commute on (so I don't have to leave any of my good bikes out) but I got it free from a scrap metal pile as a broken 10 speed and put about $100 into it to make it a nice, ugly fixie I can leave around town without worrying about it much.

All that being said this probably isn't a bad bike. Better than something you'd get at Walmart anyway. And the advantage of a single speed for a commuter is there is less to go wrong and less to maintain. Oh, and a stronger rear wheel (dishless).

Is it worth $267?? Or can I get something better or similar at a local bike store?
