The older version is better. Feels less cheap and has blue backlighting. Also has a volume control (wheel type thing) and flip up LCD instead of built-in like this one. It also has 18 macro keys rather than 6; speaking of which, Ben needs to update his description for the G15v2.

The original G15 is very large though and may not fit in most keyboard trays.

I would never buy a keyboard this expensive. What is the point?

If you're looking to buy this for the key mapping feature, there are software that can do that on any regular keyboard. I use my numpad keys and Function keys to kick taunts at my opponents. Using a combination of 2 or more keys, it is possible to create hundreds of assignable macros using just a few keys.
Yet, I'd buy this keyboard if it were less than 30 bucks simply because it would look cooler on my desk than my $2.99 keyboard.

I got this as an Xmas gift this past holiday and the only thing I use the screen for is to see who is talking in Ventrilo during games. Other than that, it's pretty useless. But I do appreciate the back light, and unlike my last keyboard, the paint on the keys aren't rubbing off.

I use to have one the older version have high expection for the LCD display to show game data. I sold it @ Ebay a few months later beucase the lack of game support. Main reason I sold it is becuase it is not wireless.

If your much into gaming you don't really want wireless. These keyboards also have better key action than a cheap keyboard. I only use the LCD for the clock and performance meter. It's redundant for gaming and my eyes never leave the screen.

I've had the older one for about 4 years now and it works like new. I was going through about a keyboard a year before that. Wear out WSAD & spacebar or wear the letters off. These are built to take punishment. At least the older one.
