does it fit the canon XSI body?

This is different than the kit lens that came with Minolta 7D/5D, which is supposed to be designed for the digital series versus the film cameras.

It is not a horrible lens. It is not a great lens. It is cheap though!
This is a full frame version too. (http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/detail.asp?IDLens=34) This range is less useful on smaller sensor like A200 to A700.
So will work on A900. But, if you can buy an A900, get a Zeiss for it instead!
