i would not try this with a SLR.. way too heavy for this light-weight pod. only compact point and shoots are useful with tiny tripods like this.

I've used one of these quite a bit for random stuff with my small point-and-shoot, and it works out pretty well. I don't have a very steady hand, so it's nice to be able to set this up quickly, especially when taking short videos.

Agree with #1 about SLRs. My Nikon makes this thing sag a little but it works great for little cameras

Got one and use it most often when nature walking as it grips just about anything.
