How big would it need to be to house 3 x AA batteries and 11 LEDs? If it were a flashlight then a larger and deeper reflector might make it more efficient and throw further, but on a lantern with outward facing LEDs... I'd prefer one that took D cells for much longer runtime, but on the other hand it is less expensive in the long run to be able to use NiMH AA.
I doubt I'd bother using this camping when a more versatile pocket flashlight which is capable of tailstanding can serve your illumination needs, but for power outages at home it would be handy to have a few scattered about.
