best mp3 player so far. best sound, no DRM, only bad thing is no user replaceable battery.

Other bad thing is that you'll lose the respect of your friends (unless you're already poor).

Got mine a couple months ago when it was 19.99.
Refurbished means no instructions, no CD; just the device.

I had the 1 gb device until I lost it at the end of last ski season. The battery does a great job, and at $25 with a screen and easy navigation, it beats the iPod Shuffle in every way. Get this device.

#2 yeah, loose respect for getting the best sounding mp3 player there is? So explain, or lemme guess, did you drop a few C-notes on a trendy ipod that has inferior sound quality, poo battery life, and unreliable as an american car? Bingo.

I don't know if the URL will be baconized but go to the reviews section on cnet.com or Google the article entitled "Audiophile MP3 players, by the numbers."

I have a few sansa MP3 players and love em all

That's correct, #5 - I own an iPod. It's pretty much standard for the type of lifestyle I live. However, you probably need this Sansa for drowning out the neighbor's yelling in the trailer park.

how exactly does the type of mp3 player you have reflect on where u live, i think its brilliant to buy cheaper products taht perform as good or most of the tiem better than the "standard" trend

great little mp3 player and can't go wrong at $25. might want to look into the 2GB sansa fuse model for a little more if you want video playback. sansa definitely beats ipods in reliability and the battery lasts so much longer.

#9, a little ironic that your name is natty_ice, a relatively cheap beer

#5, the words audiophile and MP3 player should never be uttered in the same sentence.

    PS Audiophiles are idiots.

I have a couple of Sansa e2** series, both refurbs and both work well. A friend has a clip and it works just fine. These come with pretty cheap headphones so buying a halfway decent set of earbuds or headphones is worthwhile. Igrado cans made mine sound pretty sweet.

#12, While I totally agree anyone commenting on "sound quality" and lossy mp3s in the same sentence IS a dumbass, however, this player plays FLACS, the losses format of choice. Yes it's odd to have a $80 mp3 player and $500 headphones, but that's that.

I love my e270 refurb. Never had a problem and battery can be replaced for about $10.

Please try the new Sony's. If you think the sansa's sound best you have not listened to one. No DRM and you can use media player to sync songs.

Sansas have great sound, but I d get a model that has a mini-sd slot for extra storage. I prefer sansa's sound over iphone 3gs' sound when connected to my car's stereo system. That being said, the sound quality is more of a preference than a fact, but sansas are very solidly built.
