are refurbished any good?...looking to get a laptop to do some photoshop and flash work on the go...

I think you get better deals at Dell Outlet since the computers are refurbished with the same warranty as a new machine. DFS is selling lease turn-ins for slightly less than newer models from the outlet. DFS also doesn't have the same warranty as the outlet. Dell Outlet is supposed to release coupons for 15% off $299 and up tomorrow on twitter or facebook. Just my opinion...

Why bother when you can get laptops and desktops in general so cheap now b/c of the Back To School sales.

Stick to the Dell outlet. I've bought a few laptops from the Dell Outlet, and they looked like new.

I've had good experiences with Dell Outlet, but have no reason to think that DFS would be much different though these appear to be mostly off-lease items so you go in knowing that they're used, as opposed to the Outlet's stuff being more returns, changed minds, scratch&dents, etc. The killer is that most of these machines, even after the nice discounts, have been caught up to or passed by the price cuts on entry-level notebooks and desktops that have as good or better hardware and are brand new, not pre-leased. So the DFS machines can't win on price, specs or freshness. That leaves?

I've gotten three good computers from DFS at really good deals. Granted, Dell Business Outlet has some good stuff, but usually the price isn't as good as what you can get here. If you're like me and get a barebones machine and upgrade it yourself with parts from Newegg/ZipZoomFly/etc. you'll be happy with DFS.

These look way overpriced for such old used machines. Home/Biz outlet has good deals on modern machines, but it's always a struggle because they put out coupons and then there's a clusterfrak to get the best ones in a big list of slightly different configurations and prices. Wish they just had stable no-nonsense pricing, but I guess this is the way they get the most sales revenue.

They should give these away to schools
