#4 Yeah, most notebooks use the same size drives - worst case you'll have to swap the front panel to suit.

Does anyone know if netbooks, specifically the Asus 1000HE, are capable of playing Blu-ray disks?

Apparently you get a free flashing beer mug.
#8 You should mention the $6.23 shipping.
Odd. The case + drive is $79 for 1 or $99 each for 2.

Love my blu ray drive I had configured with my laptop at purchase time. I'd recommend it to anyone with a beefy enough system for on-the-go BluRay watching (any type of travel, subway commute, etc).
Remember I said "beefy" decoding the A/V stream off Blu-Ray ain't cheap. If you want to know if you have enough processing power, go find a h.264 encoded HD file from somewhere on the Internet and see if you can watch it properly. If you can you would have at least some of the minimums to use the drive (remember that the drive will be slower than playing straight off your hard drive).

To answer a previous question, your average cheapie netbook will not have enough power to provide adequate Blu-ray playback.
