How good Fantom rebate is ?

Man, I hate rebates. Want to get this.

rebate = no deal

Do the rebate according to its requirements exactly and they are no problem.

Most bad experiences are from users who cannot follow instructions or choose to do it there way and expect that that should be good enough - and then complain after the fact that it's not their fault - which is always is.

Really now, #8. I sent in my receipt and the UPC and the form. And they sent me a letter saying that I never sent in the UPC. Kinda funny since my box has a hole where the UPC used to be.

#9 - One thing I forgot to mention -
KEEP A COPY OF EVERYTHING YOU SENT IT so you can provide it to them when they try to claim you didn't follow their instructions.
And always tape the UPC cut out to the submission paperwork so they have to see it.

The best Rebate / Coupon story I have is back like 5/6 years ago during the holidays STAPLES and HP ran coupons and rebates that overlapped for one of the HP notebook computers - with all being valid - that allows me to get that laptop for a final delivered price of $288.80. It did take me months to get that final price and it helped that at the time I had corporate business relationships with STAPLES and HP directly and was able to speak in person with Carly Fiorina (then CEO of HP) about the confusion between her marketing organization and STAPLES when running rebates and coupons. She was instrumental in getting all of the rebates authorized along with a few hundred as compensation for all of my problems. That will never happen again but what a deal it turned out to be. And when the laptop had a main board problem while I was using it on a business trip in China, it was replaced at no cost with a better and more current model sent directly to my hotel in China. Best deal for me ever.

The best "deal" I've seen on Newegg without coupon code or rebate for a 1TB external drive is $90, for your choice of a Cavalry, Iomega, or some other no-name brand drive.

The Fantom drives have a great reputation, and if you're going to spend $90 anyway, why not get this drive. If the rebate comes through, bonus... Integrity of the data is what is important here.
