i own one of these and i recommended it to my friends who is in culinary school (second year) he said they were a steal at this price!!!

I was in a fancy steak house over the weekend and they gave us these steak knives to use. Suprisingly the knives had a nice quality feel to them.

I have to agree with #5 (and of course, #7, lol). Ive ben through culinary school and if I had shown up with Ginsu products I wouldve gotten laughed out of the room. They might be fine for your light kitchen duty, but I hardly think these will measure up to a professional product like Messermeister, Wusthof, Global, etc.
