The main purpose for me would be for use during power outages, ie: hurricanes. But with it's internal AC rechargeable batt, it's only good for 1.5 hours of use.
Then you'd have to depend on the crappy car charger to recharge the internal batt. That's assuming you have enough fuel to run your car while it's charging or you'll have two dead batts soon.

I'm not sure where Ben got the information that the screen resolution for this device is "1440 x 234", since there is no mention of screen resolution on the buy.com product page (and no one makes anything with a 1440x234 screen). Most likely, this has a screen resolution of 480x234 like similar portable devices (but I made that up, just like Ben!).

Great price for a great TV. Tiny antenna that comes with it will get some stations, but a better antenna is a good idea.
These were $150 at Radio hut and a bit less at Amaz on. Easy to program. I got one of these for my partner while she was in rehab for a broken hip and she could have her own TV with earphones, much better than sharing a few cable channels on the fuzzy picture TV on the wall.
This is digital, no converter box needed.

#3, 1440x234 is a very common screen resolution for portable LCD televisions. Considering there are actually very few manufacturers of LCD panels, it's not surprising that most HD LCD monitors in this price range have that exact resolution. Simply google "1440x234" and you'll see.
