I'm tempted but the reviews are mixed - the Philips cordless set i have now had bad batteries - the reviews for these say the same

The battery life on these isn't too bad unless you've missed a call and the "missed call" LED is flashing on the handset(s). Which means, of course, that you may very well face a situation where you leave your house, someone calls, and your phones discharge their batteries because no one is around to clear the "missed call" notification.
