I wondered with those weird name GPS, if they will keep updating the maps when they go belly up...hate to buy a GPS at a great price but come to find out i am stuck with an "un-updatable" map....Sorry for making up words

Clarion may be new to GPS but has been making auto electronics since 1948 and GPS since 1993 http://www.clarion.com/us/en/company/profile/history/index.html
I worry about low-end units that the vendor has no plans to update leaving us to use hacks to apply updates. (MIO for example)

why even bother with these units when u can purchase a Garmin, Magellan, Tom Tom. you will no save that much with generic units.
