How old has this particular model been around?

Note that this model has ZERO (0) digital audio inputs. No toslink or RCA inputs. If you don't use HDMI, you'll be sending stereo via RCA L/R cables.

I have a tivo S2 and an HD cable box. The tivo supports svideo and stereo. HD on the cable box supports component and toslink (for 5.1 digital sound). There's no way that I've found to connect audio and hidef video to this TV since the stereo outputs must go to the tivo. I could blame the cable box, I suppose.

Booo.

BTW, I own a 37" toshiba 720p model. Love the picture, dislike the audio inputs and there's a hum that only I can hear that gets louder in bright scenes. Paid a few hundred more for it that this.

But at this size you're not really using the built in speakers, are you? And most devices won't let you pass through back to your receiver so... If you're using the built ins you're listening in stereo anyways, right?

In my opinion, the 525 has a pretty washed out picture, even after playing with the settings. Still a decent TV for $580, if a little old now.
