#4, dumbbell technology progresses pretty quickly so you would be better off weighting on these. Seriously though, it depends on how you use them. They have locking plates that might get cracked if you are throwing them around like kettle bells. But for normal curlz for tha girlz you should be fine (at least if you were into girls you would be fine).

I have yet to try one of these that felt safe. To me each of those plates feel real loose regardless of what weight I set them too.

I've been tossing around the idea of buying some weights for home--having a four-and-a-half month old takes too much time and saps too much energy to go to the gym. But $300 is a bit pricey, and a $5 code does nothing to provide an incentive.
