What happens if the unit fails, Can the data be retrieved or does the drives have to reinstalled into another unit.

#4, see that's what backups are for. Just recover the data after you move the disks to another machine/server.
You'd need to specifically ask Drobo support which units support interchanging drives **with data** intact.

#4, You can move all of your drives to another Drobo, and retrieve all your data. (keep the drives in the same order as they were in the original unit)

Is Newegg.com considered a Canadian dealer? The rebate form link here and on Newegg's website show the rebate is only valid for "All Canadian Dealers". Wouldn't want Data Robotics to say Newegg.com is not a Canadian company and reject my rebate.
