this is only marginally better than the Bravia 46" for 900 deal through bestbuy on 7/4

I don't know about that. This will beat the Sony for picture quality. Panasonic TVs have better reliability than Sony also.

also 50" vs 46" .... where's the comparison?
#4   ryviusx - Posted 7:57 am PDT 09/14/09 (280 Posts)
pricing, more HDMI ports and contrast ratio on the Bravia...

This is a way better deal than a 46" Bravia for $900. Not even close.

Is burn in still a huge issue with the newer generation Plasmas?
#7   nuisance - Posted 9:34 am PDT 09/14/09 (10917 Posts)
#6, no. Not only isn't it an issue, but good plasmas have integrated features to prevent it, such as Panasonic's pixel orbiter.

only 2 more months til black friday. i say any tv deal right now isnt worth it. but it's a pretty good deal. i'm assuming for the price though that it's a 60hz tv?
#9   nuisance - Posted 11:27 am PDT 09/14/09 (10917 Posts)
#8, it's plasma and it has a 600hz sub-field, not that it means much. Plasmas are great for watching sports and action films and don't suffer the same ghosting you see in many LCDs. This TV will blow away a 60hz LCD TV that costs hundreds more.

Ugh...enough with the black friday nonsense. Retailers are doing anything and everything to get people to buy TODAY.

black friday sucks, waiting in line like a damn rooster.

I'll pay $50 dollars more for something so I dont have to wait in a BF line. Just not worth the time.

Add to that the fact that they might run out of them before you even get one.
