Is this a good deal? I have been looking to get a Dremel for a while now. I don't know what I would use it for, but it would be nice to have.

Well, they used the 400-2/51 picture from dremel's site.

If this is a 400-2/51 then this is just the going price everywhere else.

I own an XPR 400 series kit plus like 95% of the addons and accessories, and I also own an 800-series Lithium-Ion Cordless Dremel with an extra battery. I bought all this stuff a couple of years ago when Amazon.com had a super blow-out Dremel deal going, plus Wal Mart had put most of their Dremel products on clearance at the same time. My 800-series cordless with plastic storage case and an assortment of included accessories cost me $30 on close-out at Wal Mart.
I almost always use the 800-series cordless Dremel and have only used the 400 a few times to do things like cut fan holes in the side of heavy-gauge metal computer cases, and there's usually smoke coming out of the 400's body by the time I finish cutting a decent size hole. The motor overheats and the Dremel body gets very hot, but luckily the 400 hasn't died yet.
The vast majority of the Dremel accessories that I own will work with either the 400 or the 800, but some things only work with the 400 (like the planar and reciprocating saw attachements).

Variable speed power switch on mine broke after about a half-dozen light uses.

After owning one, I can say that this is one of the most useful and versatile tools I've ever had. Yeah, the price is pretty much a wash, but its still a great item to have around at a moment's notice.
