Anybody out there try these with their Homelink unit in their car? If so, what was the range?

I'm not sure I understand your question, #1. If you already have Homelink, why would you use these with it?

This product is absolute garbage. after buying it I would not recommend anyone spend money on this PoS.

The Homelink unit in the car is just a replacement transmitter. In most cases people use them to replace their garage door opener but they learn RF signals so they should be able to control one of the units.
It could be used to turn on a light in the front hall or in the garage as you drive up.

Ah, I see. My Father has a set of these that he uses mostly for Christmas lights, but no Homelink. But I would think the range would be the same as for anything else the Homelink controls. And if this cheapo transmitter is good for up to 100', I would think the Homelink would be able to match it. It's cheap enough to be worth a try. If it doesn't work, repackage it as a gift for someone you don't really like that much. Smile Target sells a 2 pack similar to this for about $25. You could always try those and then return them more easily if they don't work out. Other places, such as Amazon also sell this 3 pack for about the same price. It's really just an OK deal.

I bought these at Menards for 7 bucks each, so they all come's out the same price. Yes!.. #5 got it right about 100ft depending weather if outside. Many use it for Christmas Lights, turn on computers, Light, Machine, coffee machine and ECT.. I use it basicly for lights, works nice. I bought 4 and return one for anoher one cause it using the same channel, I want to remotely control each items. remote control battery last me over 2 years already..
