as much as i hate to create waste, this is cheaper than finding and buying a replacement battery for my old craftsman

#1 there is too much emphasis on waste and being green. We will all be dead in the next 100 years. Why be concerned with what happens after that? Is someone who will be living 100 years from now going to help me now? Live life to the fullest now and let those who are around later worry about things. There is no benefit or reward for us now to make things better for people years later.

#1, between a new battery for a good Craftsman, and this piece of crap, I'd buy a new battery.

It's not even the fire storm. Don't expect too much from this, more like a screwdriver.

Many of the Craftsman packs are affordably priced, if #1's isn't it's probably because it's a substantially better quality or more powerful drill (even tho it's still Craftsman).

Indeed this drill is more like a screwdriver, but it may not be variable speed (?) so check for that useful feature if you need a screwdriver.

The other issue is it likely uses the crude unregulated pseudbaconrickle charger that many on the lowest end do, which can cook the batteries if left overcharging since it doesn't turn itself off or have multiple charge rates.

#3, someone could invent a time machine in the future and then come back to kick your butt..
