i have this. its sounds pretty good. i paid 324 for it at newegg a month ago. only bad thing is that if you plan on using hdmi inputs you have to run an optical cable to the receiver as well because it wont pick up the audio from hdmi inputs. so what i did was just keep my video inputs into the tv and only plug my audio cables into it. i use optical cables for 5.1 channel

Onkyo is the best quality in the reasonably-priced enthusiast category. The only brand components I'll ever buy.
I once bought a highly-touted Denon CD changer (ah, the the olden days of sound technology). It sounded pretty good--but I was looking for better than mediocre. I tried a Yamaha, and it had a similar sound. Then I bought a similarly-priced Onkyo, connected it to the same amp & speakers as the others were, and got my sox knocked off by the improvememt in sound quality. (Good thing there are liberal return policies at some B&M stores!)And so-called experts had told me that there was little difference in sound reproduction among CD players...
Don't hesitate to order this, if you need a home theatre system--you won't find a better one for a similar price.
