If 1080p is not critical then you might consider the appletv for $50 more. It can be hacked to play EVERYTHING and do a crapload more.

I think Apple TV is getting the 1080p capablity soon. Upgrade to the Broadcom graphic card for $30 and wait for the software that use hardware 1080p acceleration to come which they're working on.
