Apple store has AppleTV refurbs for $150. It doesn't do 1080P but plays damn near everything else and is amazingly hackable to do so much more. You just gotta patch it. It takes 15 minutes.

I'd rather buy another PS3...

After some quick research on the KaiFa EP6000B I have to agree with #2. IMHO there will never be a strong user base and firmware updates will just disappear. Also if there are QC problems where are you going to go? There are so many media players coming from Europe, China and Korea that are in the same boat as this one.

Just a small selection of the media players available.

#5 I like this but the poor upconversion of SD DVD's concerned me as did the lack of BluRay ISO support. Nice interface and better than usual remote though. Read somewhere that there are two versions, hope you get the very latest.

I'm tempted to agree with #5 and #6...have had good experiences with Asus products so far. The question for me is how well the UI and remote work, and whether/if they'll add a web browser (already has the Lan port). It'll be interesting to see how the reviews shape up in the coming weeks.

#7 here is a very British video review of the Asus http://www.trustedreviews.com/video/Asus-O--Play-HDP-R1
so it looks like Asus released in Europe before the USA.
