The Canon line has always been a reliable recommendation. Excellent optics, easy UI, and great pictures. Both their Elph and PowerShot lines work well.

Somehow the semi-rounded left side makes the camera look weird. Sort of elongated a bit much.

I have had mine for a few weeks now and I am unhappy with the HD recording. The Sony T500 and T900 soot much better in HD.
