This is a great camera... a very good entry DSLR. I don't know that the other camera is worth a third more, but it might be to you.
I can tell you that this camera has one of the best camera sensors, even though it's "only" 6 megapixels... it'll capture colors like higher-resolution sensors can't. I have this camera and am very pleased with it (which is not to say that having had it for a year or so, I'm not lusting after the BB refurb K20Ds!).
One important thing to remember is that with Pentax DSLRs, you've got access to a world of lenses -- almost every lens that's ever been made for a Pentax DSLR -- and if you decide to move up to a better body in a year or two, the lenses you buy for this camera will work on it.

Love my pentax dslr. I picked up one of these too. Hopefully it will arrive in good condition. need to check on the warranty though.

because the picture is not even as good as my samsung nv3. also it doesn't take NiMh rechargble batteries. I heard it does work with eneloop batteris but the eneloops are more expensive than the Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. I don't see the benefit of using AA size batteries.

#7 it will take NIMH batteries. The benefit is you can buy AAs anywhere and you only need one charger to charge AAs which can be used in almost any average device (Remote, Camera, GPS, flashlight and so on.)
Buying a custom battery and custom charger for EVERY device is not a benefit to anyone.
Maybe you are used to a point and shoot camera, but a dslr takes a little more manual control to get the best pictures.
Cant wait to get mine, if its anything close to my old Pentax*ist and K110D I will be very happy.

#8. Some K100D take NiMh batteris but some don't. The one I bought from bestbuy doesn't take NiMh. I have Pentax SLR and manual and auto lens. I though I could reuse my lens on the K100D but the picture quality disappoint me. My 4 years old Nv3 gets better pictures. I think point and shot cameras are actually built on Range finder structure. Range finder camera usually gets better result than SLR.
