Did this deal a couple months ago. I have been mostly satisfied. Sound is a little bright for my taste, but sound is a definite upgrade from bookshelf speakers. They sound good, especially for the price, but don't expect miracles. If you push them and are picky, you'll find short-comings.

Sam, what's your room like? It's possible that the brightness is due to your room configuration more than the speakers, and that some relatively inexpensive treatments can make a huge difference.
Also, are you using Audyssey or an equivalent program to calibrate the sound?
