My wife and I both have what appears to be the same chair (and paid around the same price). Mine is probably 4 years old now, and the arms began cracking and breaking about 1 year into life. On my wife's, we put the arms on backwards (so they angle away from the desk rather than into it), and that seems to have kept it a bit safer (though it's only a year old at this point).
