My kids have this... and I SWEAR I think this thing is possesed. In the middle of the night, with no one around, I'll hear it say, "Peekaboo, I see you" - or "Hug me". Also, the 'on/off' switch on this thing is terrible - meaning that just about anything that touches it will start it singing, and almost nothing will shut it up.

Echoing #3's comments. My kid has this as well. Last thing you need is to do is wake up from a deep sleep to "It's LEARNING TIME! WOOF WOOF! Let's sing and play games!" This thing almost got stabbed around 2:00 AM after it kept randomly going off. Reminded me of the "I WANT TO PLAY" doll from the X-Files episode - "Let's play with the hammer!"
There is, however, an on/off switch inside the fabric on the back you can AND SHOULD turn off after your child calls it quits.

I have the same problems with the product. The triggers/buttons on this thing are so sensitive that if you're walking past it, it will go off and start singing out of nowhere. Nothing is more frustrating than getting the baby to sleep, and then trying to sneak out of the room, only to have the toy scream "It's Learning Time!" because you closed the door a little too hard. I've wanted to kill this thing so many times. I ended up taking the batteries out and telling my daughter that it's broken.

Well its' been years since I had to deal with putting the little ones down and toys like this. Ah those cherished times...
I alway found that every kid toy like this sound much better with a layer of packing tape over the speaker grill.
While isn't Amazon included in the ToysRUs price fixing probe?

Hunh, my kids like it quite a bit, and while it can be spooky in the middle of the night to hear it chime in, they've had enough fun with it to make it worth it. Not sure this is a deal at this price, since they got it as a gift, but it's a fun little toy for em. No real complaints.
